Her debut song Here came out in 2015. It received praise from music critics and listeners. The song made it to the top 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs in 2015. That same year she debuted the album she titled Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the original five songs. In her interview with Rap-Up fans discussed Cara's journey to self-love and her fears. Cara incorporates messages about compassion and self-love throughout her songs. She's been in the midst of insomnia and anxiety, which have influenced her journey. In an interview with Reuters, she said that her album was "half turbulent" and "half flawless". People have told her that she discovered her development in therapy. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on July 11, 1996 of Italian descent parents. Her parents gave her an instrument when she was 10, and it brought her to music. At 13 years old, she began performing her favourite songs via YouTube a major media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she was talented and courage to become a professional singer. Sweater Weather is one of the covers that resulted in her being noticed to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create new songs of her own.
